About the Author

Sanettra Mae Waller

Sanettra was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She come from a family of ten children: a baby boomer for sure. At 63 years of age, she is a mother and grandmother. She currently lives in the beautiful state of Maryland where she works as a Licensed Practical Nurse, in the field of developmental disability. Her compassion for others has fueled her love for nursing, a love that has led to a career that is now in its 29th year. All along the way, she has been blessed with patients who have decorated her life with gems of experiences, taught her much about the joys of compassion and helped to inspire her.

But nursing is not her only interest. Another passion is her love of writing in which she hid in a special place in her heart, until now. You see, she believes in the power of dreams as in “A dream will never die as long as you give it wings to fly”. A long-held dream of hers is to be a published author. As a result of never letting go of her dreams she is now publishing “Happy Seed”, the first in a series of adventures to delight the Hearst of children of all ages.

Her first, and perhaps most memorable experience of sharing her writing publicly was in her sixth-grade class. As a class assignment she had written an essay on her favorite historical figure, Harriet Tubman. She was called to the front of the room by her teacher, Mrs. Sherry, to be acknowledged for a well written essay. For an extremely shy girl, it was terrifying. However, it was also the moment that began a beautiful journey rich in feelings that she desired to experience and explore.

It is with a cocktail of wisdom, gratitude, and joy she presents, ‘Happy Seed ‘. It is her greatest hope the everyone enjoy ‘Happy Seed ‘ and its sequels.
